About Richard
Masters of Physiotherapy (University of Canberra)
Bachelor of Nursing (University of Canberra)
My career as a physiotherapist began in 2011, having graduated from the University of Canberra. Since then my experience has been gained working locally in the private practice setting and as an aquatic physiotherapist (hydrotherapy). Prior to my life as a physio, I worked as a Registered Nurse for 9 years, where my interest and passion for health care began, working locally in Canberra, the UK and the Middle East.
My interests lie in treating a wide range of conditions, both acute and chronic, utilising a wide array of manual therapy techniques and exercise prescription. I have a particular interest in treating tendon injuries, acute knee injuries and osteoarthritis. I am passionate about helping people to achieve their goals and improving their quality of life, whether it’s an early return to work, sport or general activity. I also feel that it’s very important to provide clients with the knowledge and education so that they feel more empowered to manage their condition more effectively and independently.
Outside work I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two young kids. We love being outdoors, playing sports, travelling, and listening to music.
