MLS Laser Therapy
MLS Laser Therapy is a non-invasive, safe, and painless treatment modality where light energy is used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and promote wound healing and soft tissue repair.
How can laser therapy help?
Laser therapy is a safe, non-invasive treatment that uses focused light to help your body heal faster and feel better. It works by delivering gentle light energy into injured or painful areas, stimulating your cells to repair themselves more efficiently.
Here’s how it helps:
-
Speeds up healing: The light boosts energy production in your cells, helping them regenerate tissue and repair damage more quickly.
-
Reduces pain: It encourages the release of natural pain-relieving chemicals and calms irritated nerves, easing discomfort without medication.
-
Reduces inflammation: Laser therapy helps reduce swelling and inflammation, which improves mobility and accelerates recovery.
-
Improves circulation: It enhances blood flow to the treated area, bringing in oxygen and nutrients that support healing.
Whether you're recovering from injury, surgery, or managing chronic pain, laser therapy offers a gentle, drug-free way to support your body’s natural healing process.
What conditions can be treated with the MLS laser?
-
General pain management (acute or chronic)
-
Neck and back pain
-
Shoulder pain
-
Arthritis
-
Bursitis
-
Tendonitis
-
Muscle and ligament strains
-
Carpal Tunnel
-
Sciatica
-
Nerve injury
-
Post-operative recovery
-
Oedema / swelling
-
Haematomas
-
Ulcers and wounds
What makes the MLS laser different to other lasers?
The MLS system delivers a unique synchronised laser beam of two different wavelengths and powers, resulting in a synergistic effect where both the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects are greater than if two single lasers had been used.
Can anyone have laser therapy?
You will be screened prior to any laser treatment to ensure it is right for you. Laser therapy is contra-indicated for:
-
Pregnant women
-
Around the eyes, thyroid, or over known or suspected cancerous tumours
-
Near any electronic implants, i.e. pacemaker, spinal stimulator
-
Active bleeding
-
Epilepsy that is sensitive to flashing light

What does the treatment involve?
Prior to treatment, metal objects must be removed from the body e.g. watches, jewellery. The area to be treated should also be free of any creams, oils or make-up.
Safety glasses will be worn to protect your eyes from the laser.
The laser will need to be applied directly to your skin.
Treatment times are fast - 5 to10 minutes and depends on the condition being treated and number of locations.

Evidence suggests that acute injuries may require 3-6 treatments, and chronic conditions having 6-12 treatments, again depending on the pathology. Benefits are often evident after just 2 treatments.
